Across the nation, nearing to 4000 applicants have applied for student visa to US on the day the country’s Mission to India celebrated the Student Visa Day.
The US Embassy’s statement also stated that, from last year, above 90000 visa application have been submitted.
The embassy has released a fact sheet and it states that over the last 12 months, the student visa application have doubled at the US Embassy and Consulate in India, Especially in Hyderabad and Mumbai, these are the two busiest posts for the students.
The statement added, the US embassy in nation’s capital Delhi, Consulates General in Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai have opened their doors today and over 4000 Indian students have applied for visas to pursue education in United States.
The Embassy also stated that engineering tops the charts and then followed by computer science. Last year, the Indian students have contributed nearing to USD 3.3 billion to the US economy.
While addressing applicants, the US Ambassador to India, Richard Verma has said that, Indian students are great asset to the US universities and also for colleges. Both nations would greatly benefit when our student study and learn together.
On this eve, the embassy as well as the consulates in a festive and collegiate atmosphere, they have treated the applicants to an informative morning. The consulates played music which ranged from college songs to pop music.
The Embassy also stated that it is honour to meet India’s future leader on Student Visa Day. I am much impressed with the caliber of Indian students. He said, he felt amazed about as to how the Indian students are able to contribute to their motherland India and also to the World at large, Verma, Ambassador remarked after he had a talk with the applicants.
