Emirates to benefit from the visa-free travel to Europe by spring

Beginning in spring, all the Emirate citizens would probably be able to enjoy the visa-free trip to Europe. This new policy would come into existence a year after the parliament of Europe has passed the vote in the favor of Emirate citizens by exempting the need for holding the Schengen visa. UAE citizens are the first ones to grab this visa waiver policy among all the Schengen nations.

According to Italian Ambassador to the UAE, Giorgio Starace, Brussels has promulgated that this new policy would be put forth by the beginning of spring season. Almost all the procedures and plans regarding the new process have been finished and the plan will be put forth at the earliest, says the sources. Starace further added that Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed has stepped up to get the visa exemption. And Italy is the country that has accelerated for the Emirates in Brussels.

Italy is one of the key partners to UAE, both politically and economically. This new policy of waiving of visas would aid all the European nations to surge their emirates citizens’ inflow and to raise their economy. However, Giorgio Starace is not able to reveal the date when the visa suspension plan is about to commence. It was said that Italy is the first country to benefit from the new visa exemption policy.

Earlier 35,000 visas were proffered for Italians from Dubai, while 12,000 from Abu Dhabi. This count includes both expatriates and UAE citizens.

Around 523 individuals out of the 577 of European Parliament have voted to offer the visa exemption policy for UAE citizens. The Schengen Area consists of 26 states, of which 22 out of the 28 are EU member countries. Few of these nations are Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic, France, Luxembourg, Greece and many others.
