USCIS seeks public comments on visa programs

The Citizenship and Immigration Services of the US (USCIS) is looking for the public comments on the planned rule that will enhance and modernize few aspects of the job based immigrant and non immigrant visa programs.

The USCIS is also planning the regulatory changes for better enabling the employers from the US to recruit and retain certain overseas workers who are the gainers of the approved job based petitions for immigrant visa and are looking to become legal permanent residents (LPRs).

USCIS is also aiming to

Enhance and clarify the much awaited policies and procedures of the agency. Better enabling the employers of the US to hire and retain certain overseas workers who are gainers of the approved petitions for job based immigrant visa (I-140 petitions).

Enhance employment portability for certain gainers of the approved I-140 petitions; clarify when the people might keep their priority date to use when applying for the status adjustment to legal PR.

Let certain individuals with high skills in the US in non immigrant status to apply for initial year of unobstructed job approval.

Establishing a grace period during an authorized period of validity of up to two months for non-immigrant workers with high skills whenever their job concludes.

Public has been asked to comment on this till 29th February, 2016.
