India e-tourist visa to Chinese citizens

Chinese nationals from July 30th onwards will get an e-tourist visa facility to enter in India as per the promise made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In addition to the China nationals, the e-tourist visa will be offered to the citizens of Macao and Hong Kong from Thursday onwards, said an official.

Mr. Modi announced to allow Chinese citizens under e tourist visa facility during his visit in the month of May to China, against the concerns raised by intelligence officials.

Mr. Modi announced this arrangement to Chinese nationals even notwithstanding the Chinese issuance of stapled visas to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh.

Renamed as e tourist visa this scheme was launched on 27 November 2014 as electronic travel authorization facility announcing services for more than 40 countries, later got extended to 36 more nations from the month of May.

Under e tourist scheme, an applicant receives authorized email to travel in India once the application is approved with a just print out of the authorization.

The number of foreign tourists coming under this scheme has registered 700 percent in this year may compare to the same month in the last year.
