No visa for diplomats, state officials visiting Belarus & Thailand

In a bid to strengthen ties between Belarus and Thailand, both the nations have abolished visa requirements for diplomatic and government authorities and have plans to expand mutual understanding in investment and trade sectors.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Thailand, Don Pramudwinai has met with Belarus Ambassador to Thailand, Mr Valery Sadokho to talk about the promotion of diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Sources stated that both the delegates have reached an agreement on the mutual visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders. The visa waiver plays a vital role to boost ties between the two countries and is intended to encourage their state authorities to visit both the countries vice-versa.

Belarus and Thailand set their diplomatic ties on 21July 1992. The bilateral trade has given more than 78 million US dollars and around 14,000 visitors to Thailand have come from Belarus over previous year.
