The universities and colleges in the US have seen 20% increase in the number of students from India since this year’s July month. Over 1.8 lakh students from India are presently pursuing education in the US. – As told by an official report.
According to the report revealed yesterday, presently there are around 1.2 million foreign students in the US with Chinese students leading the list and next to them are the students from India and South Korea.
Till November 2015, there were around 1,81,051 students from India who are studying in different US learning institutions. With a hike of 20.7% than the preceding report of this year’s July month. This is due to the latest academic session that starts in the month of August and September.
According to the report by SEVP, around 77% of the entire foreign students were from Asian countries.
China has biggest number of students with around 3,60,091 students pursuing education in the US, but it has seen a augment of fewer than 5% from the month of July 2015 statistics. South Korea stood at third place with around 81,599 students which is followed by the students from Saudi Arabia with around 77,486.
As per the official information, till 5th November 2015, there are around 1.2 million foreign students using the F or M visa for studying in the US. 85% of the entire F & M STEM students from India study in the US programs like Computers and Engineering.
The report highlights the November month information from the SEVIS, an internet-based system that includes the data about the exchange visitors and their dependents and foreign students while they reside in the US.
The report also informed that the entire number of active F & M students who are pursuing education in the US has raised by around 13.3% from 1,054,505 students in the month of July 2015 to around 1,194,780 in the month of November 2015.
