150 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates to apply and seek the Alberta provincial nomination on January 9. The Candidates having a 350 CRS score received these NOIs.
Through the Alberta Express Entry Stream the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program can opt for selecting eligible candidates who present the profile in federal Express Entry. The system manages candidates in the main Economic-Class immigration with the programs dealing with
• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class,
• Canadian Experience Class
Also, the successful candidates with these provincial nominations from the province get 600 extra points in the CRS score and are guaranteed in getting an invitation for permanent residence in later draws conducted by the Express Entry.
The cut-off threshold of 350 in the draw was lower in comparison to Express Entry draws. The candidates just needed the CRS score of 471 to get an Invitation to Apply
The previous work or a job offer in Alberta is not a requirement for being eligible here but the program prioritizes such candidates having
• Work experience or a job offer in Alberta;
• A post-secondary degree from Canada plus the valid job offer; or
• Relatives that are already living in the province
