Auckland has been ranked among the top cities
Auckland has been ranked among the top cities in the world for students to pursue a university education it has been revealed today (20 - 11 - 2013) by London-based Quacquarelli Symonds in its annual Best Student Cities ranking.

The ranking looks at the quality of education, the quality of living, affordability and employer activity as well as comparing how attractive the 98 cities in the study are for all students, local and international. As a heading to the score of New Zealand the founder of the study, Ben Sowter, has said ‘’Auckland rightly deserves it’s position in the top 50 list’’ He also went on to say "The city's strengths clearly lie in its high quality of living, scoring 91 out of a possible 100 points, student mix at 84 points and employer activity at 79 points."

AUT University Vice Chancellor Derek McCormack said: "Auckland is a great city for students, both Kiwi and international, and we are delighted that our success is helping to promote that."

The ranking will definitely help our country be an attractive prospect for students all over the world to consider finishing their education in, our student visas are elementary to obtain and require no extortionate fees and also the ability to work here during your study period can be extremely beneficial and also add to the memories people will keep forever of their youthful years, the experience here in New Zealand for students is second to none. 

Auckland Mayor Len Brown said Auckland's ranking was a recognition of the city's growing significance as an international destination for students. "The effort we are putting into areas such as transforming our city centre and upgrading transport infrastructure across Auckland can only add to our international reputation as a great student city," the mayor added.

Students have seen New Zealand as the land of opportunity for years and the ever increasing educational studies that are being done are consistently producing evidence that New Zealand really is one of the top places to study with one global survey calling us ‘The leader of the world in Education’’ 

For students who want a brilliant education but also immense fun while obtaining their goals there is no other country where you can leave the classroom for the day and head over to some amazing surfs, swim with dolphins, ride horse back down a beach or experience a wonderfully vibrant nightlife all within extremely close proximity and all highly achievable activities on a daily basis!
