The Australian immigration department is planning to implement the new Skilled Occupation List with effect from July 2016. The rapid development of industrialization has created a shortage in skilled labor in Australia. So, the Australian government has planned to introduce an innovative immigration approach for the skilled workers of different nations to overcome this shortage.
In the new list, Australia has added the latest job requirements with major changes in the existing categories. However if the applicant submits his/her application before 1st July 2016, the forthcoming changes will not affect his/her application.
There are some particular visa categories for which will be affected by the new scheme of SOL such as Temporary Graduate Visa of Subclass485, Skilled Independent Visa of Subclass 189 and the Family Sponsored Visa.
The applicants for above-mentioned categories should confirm that their occupation is listed on the Skilled Occupation List or not.According to a report, there will be several changes to be made in the upcoming SOL. Lots of new skill occupations are going to be added and few existing occupations may be eliminated under this initiative.
Audiologist and Prosthetist are the two major occupations that are going to be added in the SOL from the coming July whereas occupations like Environmental Health Officer, Mining Engineer, Metallurgist, DentalTherapist and Petroleum Engineer may be removed from the list.
