Australian business travelers to get past long queues on arrival into London

Here's some good news for UK’s most regular visitors. They can now apply for the Registered Travelers’ scheme under which no more waiting in long queues on arrival into London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports is guaranteed.

After a thorough examination by UK authorities, eligible Australian travelers can enter England through the ePassport gates which resemble the SmartGate back home. Those who don’t have an ePassport, can still utilize the Registered Traveler lane at Gatwick or the UK/EU at Heathrow.

There is also no need to fill out a landing card but simply give your passport for a quick check. This is a measure taken to strengthen the economy of the country by attracting more of investors and business-class people.

This scheme aims at providing adequate border protection. As of now, an invitation code is required to apply which can be easily obtained by the airlines or the UK Border Security officers. This is followed by a careful check by the authorities. Once through, you gain access to the speedy exit for a period of 12 months, after which you need to go for renewal.

This service will be made available to other airports in the coming months. Meanwhile US, Canada, New Zealand and Japan nationals are encouraged to apply for the same.
