Canada announces the number of visas granted for Filipinos in 2013

On 22nd April, 2014, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Chris Alexander has announced that Canada has granted more than  47,000 visitor visas to the visitors of Philippines in 2013.This figure reveals an increase of 57 percent since 2006.

Since 2012, there has been increase of 6 percent in the number of visitor visas issued to Filipinos
Around 30,000 citizens of Philippines have become the permanent residents of Canada in 2013. Thus, the country has been ranked third among the top nationals migrating to Canada.
 
The Canadian government’s improved measures have helped to strengthen tourism in a legal way and also the Filipinos who have been visiting Canada, thereby building strong economic ties between the two countries and growth all over the country.

Visitors to Canada can avail of the benefit of the multiple entry visas, which allows them to enter Canada or go from Canada for six months at a single time, for a period of 10 years.

From the time of introduction of multiple entry visas in 2011, more than 1 million visitors have been granted multiple entry visas across the world.
