Canada inks agreement with Vietnam over bilateral relationship
Canada has inked a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam over strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations in the fields of education, business, security-global and regional and human rights.
The letter of bilateral ties was signed by Canada’s foreign affairs minister John Baird and Vietnam’s deputy prime minister Pham Binh Mihn in Ottawa.
In a note released to the press, Baird has said that the duo had talks on regional cooperation with special emphasis on Canada’s presence in Southeast Asian region.
Elucidating on the relationship between Canada and Vietnam, he stressed that both the countries have had a history of bilateral partnership and mentioned that Vietnam has focused on Canada’s education strategy.
He further mentioned that over 2,00,000 Vietnamese in Canada feel Canada their home and the inflow of Vietnam students to Canada has been on a rise.
