Against the setting of increase in US visa fee, the Indian government told that it is against biased towards professionals from India who seek to do work in the IT industry of the US.
According to the IT and Telecom Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, there must be no inequity in letting IT professionals of the country from doing work in the IT industry of the US. He also told that the Prime Minister has taken the matter to the peak level with the government of the US and would take it at the business negotiations.
The minister also informed that according to Nasscom, the affect of the increase in US visa fee on IT units of India is predicted to be $400 million every year.
The assessment includes latest applications and extensions, but as of now, the government of the US had told that the extensions are not being covered so the predicted affect of the visa fee increase of the US on latest applications would be $200 million.
As per Nasscom, there are around 6 lakh IT professionals from India working in the US.
