USCIS has not mentioned the number of visas it had got since 1st April, when it began accepting the applications for the FY 2017 starting this year 1st October. But it has informed that the petitions will be determined by the computerized draw of lottery.

Most of these 2,50,000 application for H-1B visa are either made by the Indian firms like TCS or by those firms that has its development and operation centers in India like IBM.

This is the fourth successive year that the limit has reached in the initial five days of filing the petitions. The USCIS would again randomly determine which petitions are to be considered for around 85,000 visas.
