The Department of Immigration has announced on September 22 that the nationals of the Republic of Yemen need to attain a visa to enter Hong Kong, including the transit passengers from September 29th.
In the present scenario, the nationals of the Republic of Yemen can visit Hong Kong through visa-free program for a stay up to 30 days.
According the spokesman of the immigration department, nationals residing in over 170 countries are eligible to enter Hong Kong based on the visa-free program periods from seven to 180 days. The visa policy has been under constant review and it would be amended by circumstances, so that balance is maintained to facilitate the genuine visitors and to safeguard the honor of the immigration control.
The spokesman struck a chord to the passport holders of the special administrative region of Hong Kong to check with the embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Beijing about the latest visa requirements, as they don’t require a visa currently to visit the Republic of Yemen.
