Indians travelling to Bahrain can apply for e-visas

Indian expats, who are over three lakh in Bahrain kingdom, have announced a new visa policy which made the access into the country easy. The country’s new visa policy has started up with electronic visas from October 2014 to the residents of India and 35 other countries, which will also simplify the visa application process through online. This will show the total number of countries that are qualified to get e-visas to 101.

The new system has also introduced a policy starting from 2015, where the visa which will is valid for a month can be extended up to 3 months, following which it has also increased the duration of time to stay in Bahrain. Multiple entry visas are the additional policy added to it.

Considering the trade exchanged between India and Bahrain is 1.7 billion dollars in 2011, we can say that India is one of the most important trading partners for Bahrain. The new policy will have an impact the ease of travel for the Indians who live, stay, work and travel Bahrain, making the largest expatriate population in Bahrain.
