The State of Queensland has released a new QSOL and nomination criteria for migration program in the present year. The highlights are:
In order to obtain the 489 visas applicants must be living in the regional areas of Queensland for three months.
Additionally they need to work full-time in that specific nominated occupation on 190 visas for the duration of 6 months.
They also need to work full-time in that specific nominated occupation on 489 visas for the duration of 3 months. The norm for Full time work is 35 hours for each week. Have a proof of continuing employment for one year with a Queensland employer (registered).
Offshore Applicants
They must have Minimum work experience of two years post-qualification in the specific nominated occupation.
The work experience requirement waiver exists for persons having a job offer for 12 or more months from a local registered business.
They must complete 100% of the qualification in an institution based in Queensland
They must pass the graduation during the past two years, in a qualification relevant to the nominated occupation
They also need to provide full-time employment in the nominated occupation or in a directly related occupation with local employer registered in Australia.
They also need to provide a proof of continuing employment for 12 months in the nominated occupation or in a directly related occupation with local employer registered in Australia.
For the applicants of 489 visas:
Residing in a regional area and working for a regional employer.
The applicants must complete 100% of the qualification in an institution based in Queensland. A job offer is not required.
Norms for Accountant and related occupations:
Minimum score of 70 points;
For 190 – one year experience and six months in Queensland);
For 489 - 3 months of work experience in a regional area of Queensland.
Experience has to be post qualification in these two visa categories. It is Available for Working in onshore list of Queensland.
ICT and related occupations:
Minimum score of 70 points
In some lists, occupations need experience (post-qualification). Candidates are advised to check these conditions for occupations before they apply.
Chef and cook occupations:
These need different level of experience based on the list that is not available for Working in Queensland list.
Teaching related occupations:
A registration with the Queensland Teachers College is required in most occupations
