Rise in number of UK tourists in Ireland

Ireland saw an influx of tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom during first half of 2014.

There has been a rise of 13.6% as regards to tourist visits from January to June 2014, accounting for approximately 1.5 million.

CEO of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons said that the government is making sure that there would be growth in the tourist sector. Besides, wide range of promotional programs have been taken up across the world all through 2014, he added.

Furthermore, number of people visting Ireland from North America saw a rise with 10.6% additional number of people entering the country from the United States compared to the equivalent period in the past year.

The rise in the tourism sector has coincided with the initiation of numerous air routes and also the rise in global advertising. Ireland’s tourism expects that the global marketing campaign would arrive at 200 million people this year.
