Good news for UAE residents. An Italian diplomat is set to streamline visa processes for UAE residents and a one-day wait for the Emirates and visitors who would like to attend the Milan Expo.
Notably, around 200,000 tickets have been bought by UAE residents for the world’s fair that is set to begin today.
The Italian ambassador to the UAE, Giorgio Starace stated that the Italian embassy and the consulate general in Dubai are ready to launch an accelerated procedure to help any individual including Emiratis who wish to visit the expo.
For citizens of the Emirate, it takes a day to acquire a visa. They expect most visitors from the Asia and Middle East, particularly from the UAE. Mr. Starace stated that the Schengen visa waiver would go for the citizens of the UAE during the six-month expo that runs till October. He added that the UAE-visa waiver will be a reality, which will make it easier for UAE citizens to visit the expo. He stressed that in February 2014, 523 of the 577 members of the European Parliament supported to permit visa-free travel for the citizens of the UAE.
A regional Italian minister for the international business and expo stated that they are expecting to welcome families and businesses from the UAE. Cities around Milan are also advancing as Italy is set to invite travelers.
Starace emphasized that they are introducing other schemes to promote the cities of Florence, Turin, Venice and Rome. He mentioned that the Emirati pavilion at the Biennale di Venezia will be launched soon; therefore, it will be easy for many UAE travelers who visit the Expo Milano to take a train to the Venice. The biennale is considered as the most popular exhibition of architecture, art and film in the world. It will be hosted once for two years across the city.
Notably, over 100 works by Emirati artists are being exhibited at the National Pavilion UAE la Biennale di Venezia. The 56th biennale will be open from 9 May till 22 November. The official inauguration of the National Pavilion UAE will be on 7 May 2015.
