Japan eases visa regulations for Indian citizens

As India offered visa on arrival to the Japanese citizens. Now Tokyo has reacted by further relaxing the requirements for multiple entry visas for short term stay of Indian passport holders.

Japan eases visa regulations for Indian citizens

According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, this step is a part of the drive by the Japanese government, for raising the Indian tourist numbers to Japan. 

According to Japanese Foreign Minister, Fumio Kishida, Japan hopes that the visa relaxing will increase the visits of individuals from India to Japan for various purposes like academic, business, exchange purposes.  

Previous month, it has extended the period of validity of these visas from three to five years. It also rose the duration of visa on the multiple entry visas that include business and tourism to a month from the previous 15 days.

The relaxation is based on the understanding between the two nations during the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to India last year.
