New York University has got most foreign students in the US

University of New York has got many foreign students among entire US tertiary education institutions with around 13,851 students.  Many other universities all over the country has also witnessed rise in overseas students. 
An increase of 6.2% in foreign students’ admission has been witnessed among entire universities in the nation when compared to the statistics previous year.

New York University has got most foreign students in the US

According to the report which was revealed by SEVIS which is complied by US ICE, another university like Columbia University has been ranked fourth in the list with around 10,810 students. Southern California University has got 13080 students, Northeastern University has got 11,381 students and Illinois University is the leading five universities in the US. 

The institutions that are mentioned are located either in or near large metropolitan area as the University of Southern California ‘s main campus is located in Los Angeles. Northeastern University is located in Boston and Illinois University is located at one hour drive from Chicago.

Around 70% foreign students were from countries like  India, South Korea and China. Other nations with many foreign students are Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Vietnam, Brazil, Taiwan and Mexico. There are around 1.2 million foreign students with F and M status in the US.

40% of the foreign students are admitted in STEM courses. India is leading with 82% with around 1,94,438 students pursuing in STEM fields.  China follows next with 69%.

Students on J-1 visa are common in the US, with over 2,00,000 students availing this visa facility.
