Switzerland to consolidate visa processing services in New Delhi

With a vision of easing the visa application process for Indians, Switzerland government is all set to consolidate the visa services under one roof by 2016, says the concerned envoy.

Switzerland Embassy, Ambassador, Dr Linus von Castelmur revealed before the media that they are planning to unify all their visa processing centers to simplify the efforts and process of Indian citizens. Currently, visas of individuals who are planning to relocate to Switzerland from Chennai are processed in the visa center of Mumbai via VFS, but in future, it will get processed in the city of New Delhi. 

As per the Switzerland Embassy, their main motto behind the merging of visa centers is to receive more number of visa applications from Indian citizens. He further added that Switzerland occupies the position of two in processing of visas with a count of 95,000 after Germany.

Participating in the meeting organized by the trade body sources of India, he stated that Switzerland will soon commemorate the occasion of centralization during the year 2015-16 with a subject of “Think Innovation, Think Switzerland”.

On this special occasion of centralizing of visa processing, a solar air plane which does not use any fossil fuel will visit India soon. This is one of the largest air planes that has a Boeing 747 wings and would come to Ahmedabad in the month of March after touring Dubai, says the Switzerland Embassy.

When coming to the mutual trade relations, there is a rise in the figure of exporting of goods to Switzerland from India compared to the previous year. During the time of signing of the economic contract with Switzerland, he noted that this new plan would surge their economy and the bilateral relationship of both the nations.
