Visa exempted tourists now require latest electronic authorization for Canada from March

A reminder has been issued by the Canadian officials that the visa exempt overseas citizens who visit to or transit through Canada would require an eTA from March 2016.

The US citizens and those who are traveling on a valid visa are exempted, but the travelers who require and eTA are advised to make sure they know about the needs.

This eTA is electronically connected to the passport and is valid for five year period or till the passport gets expired, whatever comes first.  It could be applied online, and it would be costing around $7 dollars, and it would be made compulsory from 15th March 2016.

The entire list of nationalities that needs an eTA and the exemptions could be found on the website of the CIC and it many nations like the UK, France, Australia. CIC has also said that after March 2016, the citizens from Bulgaria, Brazil, Romania, and Mexico would be qualified to apply for eTA when they travel to Canada.

To get qualify for the eTA they will require to demonstrate that they held a Canadian visa in the previous ten years, or they are holding a nonimmigrant US visa.

The visa exempted overseas citizens numbers visiting Canada every year is importantly bigger than the number of visas needed travelers. For instance, visa exempted overseas citizens represents around 74% of overseas citizens who visit Canada.
