Philippines as a major source of permanent residents in Canada

In the year 2014 more than 40,000 permanent residents were invited from the Philippines which is 30 percent more compared to the year 2013 which made the Philippines top source country of Canada in the last year for permanent residents. 

In 2014 Canada has issued nearly 47,000 visiting visas to Filipinos. This represents a 56 percent hike since the year 2006.

The key aspect of Canadian culture is Immigration. Since the year 2010 the Canada government has invited over 260,000 permanent residents from across the globe. The Philippine community has made up broad part of the total migration and the contributions made by the Filipino Canadians to Canada are celebrated by the government. 

Almost 70,000 residents of Canada are able to trace their ancestors back to the Philippines and many of the Filipino citizens make a visit to their family and friends in Canada, study at universities in Canada or migrate as permanent residents to Canada. Canada has been enjoyin the highest sustained immigration levels since 2006.  

It is said that in 2014, Canada has benefited from a luring more number of immigrants from the Philippines. Visitors and students all over the world are continuing to strengthen the economy of Canada, according to the sources.
