British Columbia Invites 348 Candidates in Five Provincial Streams

On November 26th British Columbia held a draw and has extended 348 invitations to Skilled Workers as well as International Graduates in its new Provincial Nominee Program. The draw covered five provincial streams. These Skilled workers of the provincial stream (direct) require 94 points for qualifying, and the skilled workers required 100 points in the provincial stream linked to Express Entry.

In the provincial stream (direct) for global graduates the minimum score was 101 points, and the global graduate stream linked to Express Entry required 103 points. Finally for the semi-skilled and Entry level workers the requirement was 77 points.

In the previous BC draw, 56 invitations were issued to candidates of BC PNP Tech Pilot. A feature of Nov 19 draw was that the minimum score for four BC PNP streams was 90. Additionally, the Tech Pilot offers priority processing in existing streams for the candidates having experience and skills in 29 special jobs.

The tenure of this Tech Pilot runs till 2020 after it was launched in 2017 and presently has 29 target occupations on its list having relaxed period requirements. The draws specifically aim to attract technology workers as there is a progressive technological industry here.

After obtaining the provincial nomination there is a selection guarantee with the addition of 600 points in CRS. The PNP also publishes the requisite scores needed by immigrants to get immigration invitation under the programs of Canada. This score for international graduates is 30 points lower than needed by the skilled workers in Canada Express Entry and also in the provincial streams. It is low for semi-skilled and entry-level workers.
