According to a decree from the government, foreign nationals who married to the nationals from Vietnam or to the people from Vietnam who is residing outside the Vietnam can be entitled for visa waiver program while coming to Vietnam from middle of November month onwards.
Vietnamese, who reside in other countries, will not require any visa requirements upon entering their home country.
According to the announcement made, those who wish to enjoy this benefit would require to present the documents which should that they are Vietnam national who resides overseas, overseas nationals married to Vietnam national who resides overseas or overseas nationals married to the Vietnam citizen.
They should possess a passport with a minimum of one-year validity.
Those people who are not allowed entry in Vietnam and those people who have been banned from leaving the country, are ineligible for Visa waiver program.
Many people from other countries will have to apply for exemption of the visa at the agencies of Vietnam, whereas the people who reside temporarily in Vietnam should complete all the procedures at the Department of Vietnam Immigration.
There is a maximum of five years validity period for the visa exemption, and it should be shorter by at least 6 months than the validity which is remaining of the passports of the beneficiaries of the policy.
The government finally approved this policy of visa free, after Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister urged the Public Security Ministry for speeding up the preparations of the decree made in July.
For the citizens of Vietnam who lives in other countries, this visa free policy shall create favorable conditions to return to Vietnam easily. Deputy Prime Minister said.
