French Embassy announces no cancellation of the Schengen visas

France has announced that it will not cancel its Schengen visas. Despite the country going through a tough phase, it has maintained its equanimity and allowed the entry of Indian citizens who were holding a valid Schengen visa.

According to Camille Conde of the French Embassy in Manila, there is no such announcement made by the government of France with regards to cancellation of the Schengen visas.

She said on social media post that its not true and that no announcement has been made by the government of France,  Schengen visa holders can still enter  the country.

She also said that even the European Union had not made any such announcement regarding this issue.

The news goes viral on the social media sites that France will suspend its agreement of Schengen for period of one month which starts from 13th November.

The Schengen region is presently having 26 members which include most of the EU members and four non-EU members.

The idea behind this agreement is for the citizens of Schengen nations so that they can visit any country without requiring to go through the border controls.

It also allows the travellers to travel all over the Schengen regions with one common visa.
