Hong Kong announces visa requirement for Central African Republic nationals
Hong Kong’s immigration department has announced that Central African Republic nationals will have to acquire a visa to enter Hong Kong for any purpose of visit with effect from 21 July 2014.
From the beginning, Hong Kong has followed a progressive visa policy under which approximately 170 territories and countries can travel to Hong Kong visa-free for periods extending between seven and 180 days.
However, to ensure that the right balance is kept between clearing the way for visitors who are genuine and the necessity to protect the strength of immigration control, the visa policy is likely to be affected by constant changes and reviews if circumstances necessitate, as told by a spokesman from the immigration department.
Passport holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region do not need a visa to visit Central African Republic. They are suggested to contact the embassy of Central Africa in Beijing to know about the latest visa requirement prior to their visit into the country.
