Infosys to hire 1000 locals in the US for entry level jobs

The second largest IT service provider in India Infosys is planning to hire local freshers in the US for the entry level jobs in the years to come.

The company which is based in Bengaluru, had hired around 250 individuals from the campus for the jobs in the US. The company has also said that this move was part of company’s strategy for becoming much more universal.

As part of the policy, it is going to boost the hiring of local talent in the region.

Infosys Chief Operating Officer, Pravin Rao, told that they had gone and employed around 250 individual from the campus as the experiment of entry level jobs. If that works, then the company will raise it to around 1,000 individuals in the years to come. This would be the continuous effort from the company for increasing the local hire and also to become international.

Previously in the month of November 2014, Infosys had told that they will require 1500 professionals for sales, consulting and delivering the service in the US. The firm’s plan is to raise employing locally is also considered as the move to minimize the dependency on this visa.

The IT firm had currently come under the scanner of the officials from the US on the allegations of violating the visa norms.    

Answering to a query on the issue related to visa, Mr. Rao told that some of the visa related issues are political and in the run up for every elections in the US  this issues related to the visas always happens. We require working with the industry and senator to deal with it.

According to Ranganath Mavinakere, as part of its expansion execution strategy, Infosys is now focusing on the five important themes like enhancing the wining rate, much more mining of top clients and also raising the utilization rate of the employees to 85%.
