In an effort to drive the local technology development, the immigration department of the UK (UKVI) has made it easy for the high skilled IT professionals from non-EU nations to get a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa to reside and work in the UK.

It’s your chance, if you have worked in any technology firm and you have not been able to apply for the UK work visa then you can be able to do it now.

The new rules are part of Tech Nation Visa Scheme, which update the program as it was started over two years.  In the beginning the program failed to get the attention of universal IT firms and the start ups, as previous year only seven were granted out of 200 visas.

The change to this Tier 1 Exceptional visa rule has targeted four areas. Under this scheme, the Tech City UK would make it easy for quickly rising firms in the UK to employ the individuals they required.  If at all the UK firm demonstrates that its growth would be supported by employing a non-EU individual with high skills then the applications for this visa will be fast tracked.

If you are an individual who is showing outstanding promise in any field which is related to the technology field, then your chances of receiving the visa would be high. You would have to show that the skills you possess would be able to drive the UK technology industry forward.

London is likely to grab all the foreign talent.  Attempts are being made for spreading the pool of immigrants with high skills across the nation.  UKVI would give priority to those visa applicants who are planning to work in the Northern regions of the country.  This region includes the cities like Leeds, Sunderland, Newcastle, Liverpool, Hull, Manchester and Sheffield.

Business firms can now be able to employ up to five individuals at a time on the same application. This will enable the tech firms in the UK to employ the whole team of individual from the countries outside the EU. This is the most praised update to this scheme as it means that the firms can add the whole teams to their endeavor. The new measures will be applied from 12th November 2015.

For past few years, the UKVI has tightened the visa rules in an effort to limit the number of overseas workers in the UK. The approvals for the Tier visa for high-skilled immigrants has been limited which has made this scheme of Tech Nation Visa much more important for the professionals from non-EU countries who are hoping to migrate to the UK.
