The migrant digital workforce of Australia is holding the 457 visa in large numbers. In a survey, it was revealed that around 10% of the digital industry workforce of Australia is holding this visa.
According to AIMIA, which is Australia’s Digital Industry Association and who also represents many digital firms, finds that the migrant employees all over the digital sector to be well above.
AIMIA, Chief Executive, Jodie Sangster, told that it is obvious that there is key skills gap within various areas of digital media and marketing and the increasing number of individuals migrating to Australia on a 457 visa reflects the demand for skilled employees in the country.
Apart from the skilled individuals who are migrating to Australia on its 457 visas for filing the skills gaps. The study has also revealed that the shortage of skills had resulted in the high mobility among digital employees. Around 87% professionals in Melbourne and around 83% in Sydney will consider changing their employer when compared to 65% all around the country.
The shortage of skills is also helping the digital employees to earn a handsome salary, and it also highlights that Australia is in need of skilled migrants in large number to fill these skills gaps.
This Temporary Work Skilled Visa (subclass 457) permits the employers to hire overseas citizens for four years for dealing with the shortage of skills. In current years, the marketing and digital sectors have become more dependent on the overseas employees to deal with with the shortage of skills.
Sangster told that there are important prospects for both the employees and the employers to develop and nurture talent to continue to drive the innovation within the digital industry of Australia.
According to the latest information issued on 457 visa is that developers and programmers are the largest occupations that are coming under this visa scheme. The most favorable regions in Australia for 457 visa holders is New South Wales with large number of Indian citizens are most likely to utilize this 457 visa.
