New online UAE visa for GCC expats from this October - VisaReporter Immigration News

Visas can be applied to UAE through online by the respective expatriates who have PR permits for the (GCC) Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai confirmed that the GCC nationals can apply e-visa for those candidates to whom they include house help or they sponsor. From October the e-visas will be issued for GCC expats who are entering UAE.

Director-General of the GDRFA in Dubai, Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, stated that the prospective of beginning the new online service will be helpthe GCC expats to stop lengthy queues for payment at the airport and for filing the online visa applications.

In addition, he also stated that steps will be taken to provide facilities for all the residents and visitors in Dubai.

The GCC expats can apply and pay the fees for the UAE visa online which has commenced from May 15, 2015. He also added that the department is encouraging all the individuals to submit their entry permit through online service in order to provide the required measures.

Assistant Director - General for ports, Lt. Colonel Talal Al Shanqeeti, stated that the visa service will start online and will be upon arrival at the airport till the starting of the month of October.

After this period, GCC resident visa holders cannot apply online for a UAE visa and cannot avail any facility to obtain visa at the airport. He also stated that GDRFA Dubai will be distributing brochures in both the languages English and Arabic.
