Aspirants to undergo Computer-Based Test in Nigeria Immigration Recruitment

Public Relations Officer of Immigration service department of Nigeria, Chukwuemeka Obua has noted a statement that it has planned to espouse the Computer-Based Examination for its Immigration Recruitment. Mr. Obua stated that this advancement was only to avert the recurrence of the immigration recruitment that has happened in 2014. During the year 2014, a stampede was recorded at diverse immigration centres throughout the country with the inflow of number of applicants.

He further added that the CBT will also be helpful to conduct a test and examine the computer prowess of a prospective applicant. Mr. Obua added that this was a fundamental obligation for grabbing the opportunity into the service. The main motto behind the launch of this new plan is to avoid the reoccurrence of the previous year’s incident. Moreover, this new scheme will also help in dividing the applications as per the count of the centers. The concerned representative of the centres will be communicating with the prospective applicants individually on the dates and location they were asked to sit for the test. This in turn prevents overcrowding near the centers, according to Mr. Obua.

The Spokesperson noted that CBT was a worldwide trend acknowledged and utilized globally to conduct the tests. He also added that this new plan was chosen to stop the rigors related to paper-based tests. Applicants who wish to attend the test are not supposed to bring their writing material; instead they were recommended to remember their passwords (registration number) to log on to the computer and undertake the test. After the successful completion of a test, qualified applicants will be contacted individually and were suggested to report the concerned immigration representative across the nation where the further process undergoes.

Every applicant has to undergo a physical examination during their reporting such as the general state of health, height, presence of any physical disabilities to make sure that they are eligible to carry out the works when offered a job.

Apart from this all the valid documents of a prospective applicant will also be evaluated during the test, after which eligible aspirant would be contacted through emails making them know of their acceptance into the service.
