Switzerland provides visas for Jeddah's residents through VFS
Swiss consul general Hans Stalder has said that the residents of Jeddah can now avail of the services of VFS Global to apply and receive their Swiss visas, as already announced on 9th February 2014.
This announcement was made by the consul general at the annual press conference that was held to encourage and promote tourism in Switzerland.
As per Mr. Stalder, the residents can use the VFS office for their visa purposes, as the Swiss Consulate was closed at Jeddah.
In addition, the travelers must possess a Schengen visa. In case, if the candidates have any fake documents related to hotel reservations, their visa applications might be cancelled
The Director of Switzerland Tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Matthias Albrecht said that in 2013, Switzerland had drawn the attention of many visitors from the states of GCC. That has encouraged Switzerland to raise its share of tourism from these countries.
The GCC holds the ninth place in Switzerland for tourism. As per the data published by the Tourism department of Switzerland, in 2013, about 205,736 tourists from the GCC visited the country, which indicates a growth rate of 22.7 %, as compared to the previous year.
At the press conference, the prominent destinations that were featured for their
wonderful scenery, elegance, etc. were Lake Geneva region, Geneva, Gstaad,
Lucerne, Valais, Grindelwald, Interlaken, Bern, Zurich, St. Moritz, Bucherer,
Ticino and Monteux Riviera.
Albrecht stated that to assure that the Arab tourists are satisfied greatly by their services, the tourism department of Switzerland has started the website http://www.switzerland.com/ar that has the text in Arabic language and has the information on the luxurious hotels available in Switzerland, availability of the train tickets, etc. to help in their travel and many more such details. He said that any genuine and keen tourist would be assured of having a great time when in Switzerland.
