Malaysia is planning to begin a consulate office in Xian, capital of Shaanxi province, to provide visa assistance to Chinese aspirants who wish to visit the country.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, said that the consulate office that is meant for immigration purposes, intends to increase the movement of the visitors from China to Malaysia and vice versa.

Immigration officials will be appointed at the consulate office so as to assist Chinese with visa issuance because of the huge number of requests from the local people, he added.

Starting from July this year2014, Air Asia will start four flights per week from Kuala Lumpur to Xian.
