108th Express Entry Draw - Canada issues 3,900 invitations

The Canadian Government conducted the first draw of 2019 in Express Entry on Jan 10th and issued 3,900 invitations. Now the persons who scored 449 or above, can apply to seek permanent residence in Canada.  This was the largest first draw for any year through the Express Entry introduced in 2015.  It manages the pool of candidates for three immigration categories in Canada.

The profiles of Candidates get a score based on the CRS. There are points for work experience, age, education, and proficiency in languages. The candidates with the top rank are shortlisted from the pool by conducting invitation rounds. Subsequently, they get an invitation to apply, seeking permanent residence in Canada.

Furthermore, Canada has a New Multi-Year Immigration Plan, and the federal government has a plan to welcome more Skilled candidates as PRs in 2019. The figure is higher than of 2018.  Moreover, the admissions target is 81,400 involving these programs for 2019, but it was 74,900 last year. The applications many candidates gaining admission in Canada by using the Federal High Skill category for the permanent residents are processed through the Express Entry system.

The minimum score today is 449 which is 10 points higher than the round held in 107th Express Entry Draw. A Long period between two draws allows more candidates to enter the Express Entry Pool. IRCC also applied the tie-break rule in this draw. The time was Jan 2, 2019, at 11:40:53 UTC. Hence all candidates who had a CRS score of 449 or above and had registered their profile in the pool before the designated date/time, received the ITA.

Finally, these candidates get 60 days from the day they receive their ITA for submitting a complete PR application to the Government.
