The approval rate for foreign student visas in New Zealand is continuously increasing as the enrollment in its educational institutions continues to prosper.
According to the latest information that was revealed, around 91,062 student visas were approved previous year, with an increase of 13% when compared to the year 2014.
The information revealed this month shows the increase in student visa approval of those students who are applying to study in New Zealand.
China is the leading source market for student visas, with around 29,640 visas were granted last year to the students from China with 15% increase.
Next to follow are the students from India, around 3,559 student visas were issued to the Indian students, showing a 20% increase.
New Zealand has also witnessed increase of visas that were issued to students from the US. The key reason for this is the increase in the US dollar strength over the previous couple of years that has motivated the value of study experience in New Zealand for the students from the US.
According to Education New Zealand, the increase has been driven mainly by Indian, Chinese and US students.
New Zealand has also witnessed a 6% increase in approvals for entire student visas, increased by 1,447 with first-time visas raised by 11%.
The information also revealed that New Zealand’s approach with diversifying and sustainable approach to the markets, regional growth and delivering the most excellent possible student experience, importantly stepping up the foreign delivery stays high on this year’s agenda.
Another reason behind the increase in student visas is that the students enrolling in the private training institutions and technology and polytechnics institutions, with as many as 7,796 additional student visas.
