Foreigners coming to India do not have to spend large amount of time at the immigration counters from this October.
For Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) facility, Anna international arrival terminal of Chennai airport is being set up with new counters close to the existing immigration counters. Separate desks that are set up at the airport will accelerate the process, as told by a senior immigration official.
Citizens of South Korea have been extended with VoA facility during recent times. The citizens of Luxembourg, Singapore, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam have already availed this privilege.
The bureau of immigration would arrange a website for application submission and processing of electronic visa authorization, according to the senior official.
