New Zealand immigration policy will pull more Indians

August 05, 2015
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key has recently announced to give extra incentives to the immigrants who move and settle outside of Auckland, as the city receives skilled migrants about half of the total 10,000 annually absorbed immigration to New Zealand, and are currently residing in Auckland, the most populous and largest city in New Zealand.

Skilled migrants who take up a job offer in the regions would get a bonus points that are used to evaluate for residency requests to approved or to deny.

New Zealand immigration policy to benefit more Indians

At present those migrants who obtain a job offer in the regions outside the Auckland will get 10 points for their residency application, from November onwards the bonus would be tripled to thirty points out of the 100 points they require. The migrants will be required to stay for one year in the region, which is three months right now.

"Government measures to attract migrants to the regions are a good idea. It makes sense to give migrants the opportunity to use their skills to develop regional areas rather than adding to dense populations in big cities,” said New Zealand Indian central association president Harshadbhai Patel.

The new measures would be successful to attract Indians and move to the regions, if the migrants possess the skills that those regions had in a demand, He added.

Patel also said Indians attracts to New Zealand scenic beauty and its people, Indian are easy to mix with, as New Zealand is a very safe place for Indians to cope up with the lifestyle.
