As not all of the visas were used in this fiscal year 2015.  EB-5 immigration is also limited to almost 10,000 visas for every fiscal year. The number differs slightly based on the number of used visas in the other categories as well as the executive priorities and discretion from Mr. Oppenheim.

He also explained that many hundred visas were not used this previous year because the investors had missed their appointments with the consular or they received the preliminary visa rejections due to their applications were not complete at the interview time.

Mr. Oppenheim also told that his forecast for the next coming months with respect to the EB-5 Mainland China’s final action cutoff dates.

He also stated that due to the close down of the Regional Center Program on 11th December, all the interviews for the immigrant visas for the month of December are to be scheduled during the initial 10 days of that month.  Due to the restrictions placed on the US  Consulate of Guangzhou workloaded by the New Year celebrations of China, the stakeholders would see a reasonably humble progress of the priority dates in the month of February.
