In the most recent
110th Express Entry Draw of January 30, IRCC has invited 3,350 candidates to seek permanent residence in the country. It was an all-program draw which happened only after a gap of one week. In the
109th Express Entry Draw held on January 23rd, 2019, it had issued Issued 3,900 Invitations at the Minimum CRS of 443. The date of Tie-breaking rule was January 2nd, 2019.
A decline in CRS score
Additionally, the requirement of minimum CRS score declined to 438, the lowest mark in two years. Furthermore, this is the third draw in the Express Entry to take place in the present year. The decline in the minimum CRS score had the reason that the time gap between two draws was very short. Owing to this only few candidates can submit their EE profiles in that period. Moreover, it was only in March 2017 that the minimum CRS score requirement was 438 was in the draw for candidates in FSW and CEC.
Applying the tie-break rule
Also similar to the previous draws, authorities applied the tie-break rule in this draw. The date and time were April 26, 2018, at 05:00:46 UTC. Thus all the candidates having the CRS score of 438 or higher and after submitting their profiles prior to that date/time received the invitations. Also, there is an expectation that Canada will invite many EE candidates in the next 2-3 years, and also maintain the requirement of CRS score at the present level.
Immigration Level Plan
As per the reorganized Immigration Level Plan for 2019-2021, Canada will admit 256,000 new PRs totally. It will also use the three economic immigration programs of Express Entry. These are:
- Canadian Experience Class,
- Federal Skilled Worker Class,
- Federal Skilled Trades Class
Furthermore, there is a plan to admit 200,000 new permanent residents by using the Provincial Nominee Programs during the plan period. All successful EE candidates receiving the provincial nomination get 600 additional CRS score points. This serves as a guarantee to get the Invitation to Apply to seek PR in Canada in a later draw of Express Entry.
