The USCIS Director Leon Rodriguez had administered the Oath of faithfulness at the naturalization ceremony for the 35 citizenship candidates on Wednesday at the City Hall of Philadelphia.
The speakers who were present at the ceremony were Rose Kendrick who is the USCIS Philadelphia acting district director, Richard Negrin, who is the managing director of the City of Philadelphia and Joseph Cardinale, who is the USCIS Philadelphia chief of staff.
The candidates for citizenship of the US were representing around 19 countries including India.
Every year USCIS welcome around 6,80,000 citizens during the ceremonies of naturalization all around the US who seek permanent residency in the US. In the year 2013, the top most countries of the origin for the naturalization were India, Mexico, Philippines, China and Dominican Republic.
The USCIS Director said that the US bring people who are willing to work and who are willing to raise the families, people who wishes to advance themselves and to advance our country in many ways. She also congratulated people on their choice that they have made for becoming the citizen of the US.
